Mowasalat, WTCQ sign MoU on simulator technology

SANTHOSH CHANDRAN

DOHA MOWASALAT, Qatar’s sole public transport company, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Williams Technology Centre Qatar (WTCQ), a partner of Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), to develop an advanced simulator technology for Karwa.

The MoU was signed on Wednesday by Mowasalat Business Development and Strategy Director Nasser al Khanji and WTCQ Chief Executive Officer Alex Burns.

Under the terms of the MoU, the WTCQ will work with Karwa Transportation Training and Development Centre (KTTDC) to adapt, develop, validate and integrate Williams advanced simulator training systems into its operations.

During the two-year contract, the WTCQ will design and develop a suitable simulation machine and install in KTTDC. The development and project team will include both the officials of Mowasalat and WTCQ.

Speaking on the occasion, Khanji said, “Working with Williams to develop and apply their unique simulation technology in our training activities represents an important progress in Mowasalat’s strategy of harnessing world-class technology and adopting the latest training methods to maintain our position at the forefront in the field of training and transportation.” Burns said, “For the last 35 years, Williams has developed a technology to train some of the world’s best drivers in international motor sports.

“This MoU affirms Williams and Mowasalat’s shared commitment to developing Qatar’s knowledge- based economy through collaborative partnership.”
