| | Too much praise is not
good for toddlers | WHEN I was 8, my mom gave me a selfesteem
bear. It told me I was great. So I
could relate to the recent New York
Magazine article called The Kids Are
Actually Sort of Alright. It´s a thoughtful
millennials´ manifesto, written by one,
which examines, among other things, existing in a chilly
world after a childhood of warm and bountiful praise.
The writer, Noreen Malone, quotes Lael Goodman, 27,
who says: "The worst thing is that I´ve always gotten selfworth
from performance, especially good grades. But now
that I can´t get a job, I feel worthless."
This is precisely the problem with praise, or at least praise

| | Stars feel the magic
of Twilight movies | JACKSON Rathbone, a star of the Twilight movies,
likened the wildly popular series about love between
a human and a vampire to the story of Romeo and
Juliet, as the next-to-last film in the saga was
screened recently
at Rome´s film festival.
Speaking to reporters
about The Twilight Saga -
Breaking Dawn Part 1,
Rathbone called the love
between Bella and Edward
"almost as mythological as
the Romeo and Juliet
story," referring to
Shakespeare´s play about
star-crossed lovers.
A co-star, Nikki Reed,
who plays a teenage vampire
twin to Rathbone´s
character, mused about
the popularity of the
series, which has raked in
over $2 billion (1.41 billion) worldwide. |
| | 3D conversion tech comes to
Bollywood; Don 2 first project |
RELIANCE Mediaworks
is offering 3D conversion
services to
Bollywood studios and
its first project is Shah
Rukh Khan-starrer Don 2: The
Chase Continues.
Producer Ritesh Sidhwani says
the success of Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows - Part 2 in 3D
drove their decision to convert Don
2 into the format.
"After seeing the success of Harry
Potter which was also converted, we
were absolutely sure that the experience
and thrill of watching a 3D film
is not lost if the conversion is done
correctly, and seeing the result of the
demo done by Reliance we were
convinced that we should bring Don
2 to cinemas in 3D," said Sidhwani
of Excel Entertainment... |
