DOHA

MINISTER of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum His Excellency Dr Mohammad bin Saleh al Sada and Total CEO Christophe De Margerie made their presence on Tuesday for the signing of a research framework agreement that sets the foundation for research cooperation between the two oil giants.

The agreement was signed by Issa Shahin Issa al Ghanim, chairman of the steering committee for research and technology at QP and Total Managing Director Stephane Michel.

The signing ceremony, held at the Sheraton Doha, was attended by senior officials from Total and Qatar Petroleum.

The agreement is expected to contribute in ongoing efforts to develop QP’s Research and Technology Department into a fully operational unit.

In line with this, QP plans to sign similar agreements in the near future with other international oil and gas companies (IOCs) operating in Qatar.
