TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK
DOHA ASPETAR Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital is backing one of sport’s most prestigious events, Leaders in Performance, set to be held in London on October 5 and 6, as a major partner. As part of the partnership, Aspetar will be hosting an exclusive symposium, featuring presentations from a panel of international experts that include speakers from Aspetar. Central to the Aspetar symposium will be cardiology in sport, particularly Aspetar’s philosophy, proven methodology, and results from cardiovascular screening. In addition, there will be presentations on cardiomyopathy and whether an appropriate diagnostic algorithm has been developed to ensure the athlete’s health is protected. Aspetar CEO Dr Khalifa al Kuwari said: “The sudden death of a young athletic individual is a tragic event. Aspetar has conducted significant research and testing in this area and we are looking forward to sharing this knowledge with a very prestigious group. “Aspetar is honoured to be partnering with Leaders in Performance. This is a unique event that brings together the best from a diverse range of countries, sports and professions.” Aspetar will also host the official dinner of the conference and showcase how it is leading the way in promoting research, discussion and sharing of knowledge in the industry. The hospital will have an exhibition stand promoting its services and programmes.
