More children reduce chances of divorce: QSAstudy
HIGHER the number of children you have, greater is the chance of your marriage surviving. This is the message that a 2010 study of marriages and divorce in Qatar in the year 2009 by Qatar Statistics Authority (QSA) seems to convey. The study report released recently by the QSA shows that having more children lowers the likelihood of a marriage ending in divorce. According to the...
Averting Armageddon
BACK in 2004 I met a pleasant Republican called Burton Kephart, who had lost his son in Iraq and wanted to save my soul. Opening his Bible at Matthew and Romans, he told me I was born a sinner but that, if I accepted Jesus into my heart, I could be saved. I asked what would happen if I didn´t. "Eternal judgment," he said. "Hell." You´re never that far away from the apocalypse in US culture or politics. The most popular books of the...
MORTGAGE MESS IN US
EVER since the current economic crisis began, it has seemed that five words sum up the central principle of US financial policy: Go easy on the bankers. This principle was on display during the final months of the Bush administration, when a huge lifeline for the banks was made available with few strings attached. Qtel offers Shahry Passport for roaming

TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK

DOHA QTEL is offering its Shahry customers more roaming options as they travel for the summer holiday.

For people travelling to Europe, Qtel has launched the Shahry Passport, which for QR200 offers 100 minutes of local calls, calls back to Qatar, and received calls on preferred networks in the USA and six European destinations in the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain and Italy.

The passport can be easily activated by sending the code PCE A to shortcode 114 and deactivated by sending the code PCE D to the same number.

Otherwise, it is automatically renewed after 30 days to make it easier for long-term travellers.

Customers can use the shortcode in Qatar and abroad.

Qtel is also offering more value for customers who use Shahry Value Packs.

Up till July 31, Shahry Value Pack customers can use the local minutes within their packs for local calls and for incoming roaming minutes at no additional cost.

Shahry 60 Value Pack customers will get 100 minutes to use for either local calls or to receive calls while roaming, while Shahry 130 Value Pack customers will have 400 minutes.

Customers using the Shahry 300, Shahry 575 or Shahry 1000 will get bumper packs of 1200, 2500 and 5000 minutes that can also be used to receive calls while roaming.

All Shahry customers also have access to Qtel’s SmartRoamer service, which offers competitive roaming rates while in the GCC.

Local calls in all GCC countries cost QR1 per minute with Qtel, while calls back to Qatar cost QR2 per minute.

Qtel said it is ensuring that all Shahry customers get the same rate of QR10 for 1MB when they use their mobile to access the Internet in over 75 countries on more than 220 networks.

This single flatrate, which applies until September 30, offers considerable savings over standard data roaming costs.

The special data rate applies across the GCC, in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Pakistan, Switzerland, Singapore, Yemen and other popular destinations.

All Shahry customers who connect to the preferred networks will automatically benefit from the special roaming data rate.
