Morocco, made at a council summit meeting in Riyadh last month,
marks a profound change in the nature of the organisation as

Bridges, an initiative of Vodafone´s
World of Difference programme that offers
free English literacy courses for migrant
workers, held a graduation ceremony
for its students at Carnegie Mellon
University in Qatar (CMUQ) recently.
Altogether, 100 students from Sri Lanka,
Nepal, Philippines, India, Bangladesh
and Egypt who had successfully completed
the programme, were awarded certificates.
In addition, certificates of appreciation
were awarded to 22 volunteer teachers
and to community partners like United
Development Company (UDC) as well as
to behind-thescene supporters who helped

captures tales of Arab world |
THE
Doha Film Institute (DFI) joined hands
with different educational and film
bodies to organise a moving workshop
called ´Harrer, Harrer´ (liberate in
Arabic). The workshop encouraged participants
from different Arab cities to tell their
personal stories through oneminute films,
about firsthand account of the revolutions
in their lives and in their cities.
The week-long storytelling workshop
will be organised in different cities
in the region over the next few months
to help train film enthusiasts on the
importance of storytelling through fictional
