| | | | UK Monarchy: How Relevant? |
AMID
the flag-waving and the street parties to celebrate the marriage
of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, bigger questions
about the relevance of the monarchy to modern Britain lurk like
uninvited guests. Extravagant living in a time of austerity
abrades public sensibilities; unearned privilege is resented,

DELUSION |
| COL Moamar Qadhafi is a vain man. Like
the other Arab dinosaurs he has his dyed hair, his designer
shades, his spoiled children and his compound full of sycophants.
He doesn´t want, one day, to be dragged from a rat hole

QA to attend Arabian travel meet in Dubai
TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK
DOHA QATAR Airways will to take part in the Middle East’s travel trade fair, Arabian Travel Market (ATM), in Dubai starting on May 2. The four-day event will feature hundreds of exhibitors in travel, tourism and hospitality industries from across the world.
The airline will have a dedicated stand to showcase its award-winning Five Star services and hospitality, including a display of its longhaul Boeing 777 Business Class seats and interactive inflight entertainment system.
The stand will also display a model of the New Doha International Airport, which is slated to open in 2012 with an initial handling capacity of 24 million passengers annually.
On the opening day of the exhibition, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar al Baker will host a press conference to highlight the airline’s expansion plans and announce forthcoming developments.
The carrier began the year with an expansion drive with the launch of five new routes to Bucharest, Budapest, Brussels, Stuttgart and Aleppo in Syria.
The launch of services to the northern Syrian city marked 100th destinations of the airline.
The airline is planning to launch six new routes, three of which will be introduced in May.
These are Shiraz, Venice and Montreal, the airline’s first route in Canada.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar al Baker said, “Arabian Travel Market is a forum to connect with travel industry suppliers, partners and key officials.
It comes at an important time as we embark on the second half of our 2011 global expansion plans.” By 2013, Qatar Airways plans to serve over 120 key business and leisure destinations worldwide with a modern fleet of more than 120 aircraft.
Today, the airline’s fleet stands at 97 aircraft, flying to 100 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America.
