Marine Festival Organising Committee
(QMFOC) released a new children´s fantasy
book, Noojoom, at Villaggio Mall on
Friday. The book, which is aimed at
children between the ages of 10 and
12, reflects the historical local pursuits
of pearling and sailing with a fantasy
twist. Available in both Arabic and
English, Noojoom is authored by Lebanese
writer Nadine Touma and illustrated
by Frenchman Eric Deniaud. The book
has been published by House of Art and
the Qatar Marine Festival Organising
Committee (QMFOC) as one of the committee´s
year-round initiatives to raise awareness
of Qatar´s marine heritage. The main

University´s (QU) institutional
website recently won the best visual
design solution at the Education Web
Awards 2010 Competition organised by
the Pan Arab Web Awards Academy in Beirut.
The institution received prize and certificate
of excellence at the grand final ceremony
and gala dinner. The announcement was
made by the Academy which supports a
series of awards honoring web creators
in the Gulf and Middle East region.
