Sharp fall in prices of Ramadan items
The marked decline in the prices of the food items much in demand during the Holy Month of Ramadan is a big relief for the people preparing for the fasting month just a day or two away. Prices of most of the Ramadan food items are down by up to 60 percent compared to their prices in the corresponding month last year.

DTFF workshop showcases creativity of 7 budding Qatari filmmakers
Seven Qatari budding filmmakers emerged from the shadows to debut amid loud cheers in W Hotel´s Grand Foyer Room on Monday. It was Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF´s) maiden one-minute film workshop. Mohammad Abdul Rahman, Jawaher Alkuwari, Reem Almuftah, Noora al Meadadi, Fatma al Naama, Khalifa al Obaidly and Fatma al Remaihi showcased seven 60 second films, all of which they wrote, directed, produced, shot and edited.
BPS kids hone their creative skills at summer camp

S Korea to launch rocket today
South Korea prepared on Tuesday to launch its first rocket, just four months after rival North Korea defiantly launched its own and was slapped with UN sanctions. The North has warned it would closely watch the international response to South Korea’s launch on Wednesday. Officials said the rocket would blast off late on Wednesday.
Lockerbie appeal dropped
Dying Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet al Megrahi dropped his appeal against conviction on Tuesday, leaving his fate in the hands of a Scots minister under fierce US pressure not to free him.
