Doha Freedom & Creativity Fest from April 9
The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage and the Arab Democracy Foundation (ADF) will jointly organise the first Doha Freedom and Creativity Festival from April 9 to 12, said, Mohsen Marzouq and the festival general coordinator Marzouq al Basheer. The ADF chairperson Mohsen Marzouq said the main objective of the festival is to create a free space for artists to express themselves. "´We did not invite only famous artists to the festival. We also plan to showcase the young and new talents.
Importance of human rights stressed
The three-day workshop of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) on ´Human Rights Council periodic universal review mechanism´ started at Four Seasons Hotel here on Tuesday. The work shop is being organised as Qatar tends to present its national report to the Human Rights Council in February 2010, said Mohammed Jadallah, human rights expert and head of the technical office. Jadallah said that the report would reflect Qatar´s achievements on human rights.
