This city has become a front line in a generational battle for jobs, as older workers increasingly compete against applicants in their 20s for positions at supermarkets, McDonald´s and dozens of other places. And older workers seem to be winning. With unemployment at a 26- year high and many older workers chasing entry-level jobs like those they held a half-century ago, 70 has become the new 20, as one economist put it. Millions of older Americans have delayed retirement because of plummeting.

Sachin Tendulkar may not want to talk about it, but the foremost batsman in the world today has in sight what once seemed an unachievable record — a century of centuries. The "little master", cricket´s leading run scorer, already has 85 centuries — 42 in Tests and 43 in one day internationals — more than anyone else in both forms of the game, and 15 more for the ultimate 100 is not beyond him. Fast approaching his 36th birthday, there are not too many years left for Tendulkar although it´s likely.
Acell phone´s ringtone can be just about anything. It can imitate the ring of an old-fashioned telephone, reproduce a snappy 1980s pop song or even sound like a frog ribbeting. But in particular social situations it´s best to play it safe when setting the ringtone. While out with a group of friends or business associates, a straight-forward ringtone or a silent vibration are stylistically the most elegant choices. It could put others off, if the ringtone sounds like a toilet flushing.

When he asked me to do the role I was zapped. But I was game for it. I had no idea how complex the character was. I went blindly by Anurag´s interpretation."
I took my daughter, who recently turned 10, to see Race to Witch Mountain. Yes, this is one of those Dad-goes-to-the-movies reviews, but surely you didn´t think I was going to see it alone. When the movie was over, as my own impressions buzzed distractingly around in my head, I asked her what she thought. "It was OK," she said. "It was pretty noisy, though." Really, what more can I add?
