Hundreds of kites of different colours dotted the skyline at Al Dosari Natural Park in Shahaniya on Friday during the celebration of Kite Flying Day (Uttarayana). It was organised by the Gujarati Samaj Qatar (GSQ), an organisation comprising expatriates from Gujarat state in India. Kite Flying Day is one of the major festivals of the Gujarati community and is celebrated by flying kites. This is for the first time that GSQ organised the festival in Qatar.
Europe´s biggest airline, Air France-KLM, said on Friday it had plunged into loss and would have to cut jobs and spending while waiting for clearer economic skies ahead. Chrysler´s US government- required viability plan would have the automaker viable even if US auto sales stay at current depressed levels for four years, a top executive said on Thursday. Television´s Desperate Housewives are losing a resident of Wisteria Lane. Nicollette Sheridan, who plays blonde-bombshell Realtor Edie Britt on the ABC comedy, is leaving the show, a spokeswoman for the network said recently.
