50 perish in US plane crash

Qatar varsity welcomes male students
Qatar University (QU) held its Hayakum (orientation) welcome session for male students. Over 150 students of 32 nationalities took part in registration and academic counseling exercises. Gujarati expats celebrate Kite Flying Day
Hundreds of kites of different colours dotted the skyline at Al Dosari Natural Park in Shahaniya on Friday during the celebration of Kite Flying Day (Uttarayana). It was organised by the Gujarati Samaj Qatar (GSQ), an organisation comprising expatriates from Gujarat state in India. Kite Flying Day is one of the major festivals of the Gujarati community and is celebrated by flying kites. This is for the first time that GSQ organised the festival in Qatar.
