Filipino expatriates donate blood for HMC patients
Members of Triskelion, a fraternity of Filipino expatriates, organised a blood donation camp at the Philippine Labour Office (POLO-OWWA) here on Friday. The event billed Dugong Alay, Sagip Buhay (Blood Gift, Save Life) was the first such activity organised by Triskelion´s Qatar chapter formed in 2004. Qatari Diar club wins cricket tourney
Qatari Diar won the Manzoor Ahmed Cup 2009 which is their first major trophy. The tournament was organised by the Qatar Cricket Association Complex in West Bay and sponsored by Arup International Engineering. After winning all round matches they met the Q-Tel Cricket team in the final. A superb all-round bowling and batting performance throughout the tournament by the Qatari Diar team led to their victory. The Qatari Diar Cricket Club started playing under QCA in 2007-2008 .
Qtel Oasis at Sealine a huge draw with families
The Qtel Oasis at Sealine received over 1,000 families a day during the last week. Much more are expected in the coming weeks, especially on weekends, as families, friends and neighbours look to take advantage of the temperate climate and as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. As a special feature, the Oasis hosted an animal tent this weekend, where children were able to see and interact with a number of zoo animals.

Qatar economy to grow by 29%
Qatar’s economy will grow by 29 percent this year, the fastest rate in more than a decade, as natural gas production almost doubles, the International Monetary Fund said. Qatar is also expected to maintain budget and current-account surpluses.
