Qatar, the organizers will facilitate ideal matchmaking for local, regional, and international food producers and suppliers to meet with local buyers.
George Ayache, General Manager of IFP Qatar, said: “Hospitality is one of the main sectors instrumental to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030. Hospitality Qatar in its third edition continues to play its strategic role in facilitating a sectoral working environment for policymakers, and industry leaders such as investors, hoteliers, restaurateurs, cafes owners and suppliers. With our latest focus on the food and catering industry, we are confident that this edition will create new synergies and spur further growth opportunities in the sector.”
Qatar is keen to build a sustainable hospitality sector based on the goals set under Qatar 2030 National Tourism Sector Strategy. Being one of the fastest growing sectors in the country, it has generated huge investments from local companies keen to tap emerging opportunities ahead of the country’s hosting of the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup. An estimated USD 200 billion have been earmarked for infrastructure projects ahead of the international sporting event, while the private sector looks to add 21 new hotels in the next five years to add about 45,000 rooms to the current capacity to meet projected demand of up to 60,000 units in the run up to the event.
Carla Ghaleb, Country Manager, Boecker Public Safety LLC, Qatar Branch commented: “Qatar’s food industry and the hospitality sector are becoming more dynamic than ever, attracting foreign investors from across the world. It is a great opportunity to showcase at the event our latest best practices and programs designed to meet the country’s needs in public health, particularly in Pest Management, Food Safety and Biosecurity. We look forward to our partnership with Hospitality Qatar as Associate and Official Hygiene Sponsor and hygiene jury for the Salon Culinaire.”
