The Ministry of Administrative Development Labour and Social Affairs has taken action against 11 companies in Qatar for violating certain COVID-19 precautionary restrictions.
The companies were penalized for putting up more that the allowed number of workers in accommodations and for not making workers follow social distancing rule while getting in and out of shuttle buses.
The violations were found during an inspection drive carried out by labour inspectors.
The erring companies operated in various sectors such as trade, contracting, agricultural, irrigation, electrical and mechanical services, technical services, transportation, supplies, and facilities management at a residential site in Al-Kharara area.
