The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Saturday shut the Jarir Bookstore in Al-Rayyan Street for a primary period of 15 days. The closure may be extended, the ministry said on its tweet.

The action comes after the ministry found violations of "work schedules” announced by the ministry as part of the coronavirus precautionary measures.

Recently, the ministry directed all shops, excepts those selling food items such a grocery stores, takeaway-only restaurants and pharmacies, to remain closed on weekends from April 10.
