Qatar’s coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll rose by two to six as 225 more people tested positive on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
The number of total infected cases now stands at 2,057 while 19 more recovered in the last 24 hours to take that total to 150.
The ministry identified the deceased only as Qatar residents aged 74 and 59. Both of them had been suffering from chronic diseases, it added.
The 74 year old was admitted to the intensive care unit soon after he was hospitalised due to renal failure. He had been diagnosed with COVID-19 subsequently. On the other hand, the 54 year old was brought into the hospital while he was in the advanced stage of the disease.
The ministry carried out COVID-19 tests on 3,710 people on Tuesday, raising the total number of tests done so far to 41,818.
