The number of beneficiaries of Qatar Charity's (QC) interventions in the awareness and prevention campaign against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) reached 151,373 persons.
Qatar Charity, in cooperation with the concerned authorities of the country, has distributed health and awareness bags, food baskets and other materials to the beneficiaries, including workers, and volunteers participating in raising health awareness during the period from March 18 to April 5.
The health bags and foodstuffs were distributed in many areas, including industrial areas, and the Quarantine Center in Mukaynis.  Approximately 79,780 ready-to-eat meals were distributed over three periods, in addition to 38,326 food baskets, of which 34,926 were provided in the industrial area only. Some 33,267 health and awareness bags were distributed within the industrial areas, other external places, farm compounds, construction sites, and labor camps.
Yesterday, 890 health bags were distributed to the workers of the Doha Municipality, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, and volunteers of Qatar Charity, in addition to 6000 meals at the Quarantine Center in Mukaynis and 600 food baskets at many embassies and communities.
Some 12,350 health and medical materials, including sterilizers, masks and gloves were also disturbed to health awareness workers. In the field of awareness, 90,000 copies of awareness leaflets were distributed, and 28 awareness videos were released in four languages Arabic, English, Hindi and Filipino. Besides, Qatar Charity continues to produce awareness videos in various languages to post them on social media platforms.
Qatar Charity also benefited from the efforts of many volunteers of this campaign, who numbered about 8,700 persons from nine different nationalities.
The awareness campaign included instructions on washing your hands with soap and water, covering the nose and mouth with a clean tissue when coughing and sneezing and throwing the used tissue in the trash immediately, and avoiding touching nose, eyes and mouth.
The instructions also included avoiding contact with persons who have symptoms of respiratory illness like coughing or sneezing, and avoiding non-essential travel.
Qatar Charity is now working on helping 30 countries to limit the spread of this pandemic, by launching awareness campaigns and distributing medical equipment and hygiene item.
