Twelve more people, including three nationals, tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Qatar on Thursday, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 549, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).

Two more people made recovery on Thursday, bringing the total to 43.

So far, 13,681 people have been tested for the virus in Qatar. No death has been reported yet.

The Ministry of Public Health is tracing those in contact with new cases and checking all citizens who have recently returned to Qatar.

While the coronavirus pandemic is sweeping across the world overwhelming an already strained global heathcare system, Qatar seems to be in a fairly solid position to deal with the virus with its army of doctors.

The country has the best healthcare system in world in terms of the doctors per capita, according to worldatlas.com.

Qatar has 77.4 physicians per 10,000 people (7.74 per 1,000 people) followed by Monaco (71.7), Cuba (67.2), Greece, San Marino (54, 51), Spain (49.5), and Austria (48.3).
