Doha Festival City (DHFC) on Monday waived three-month rent for the mall tenents to help them offset the negative impacts of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
on their businesses. The relief is for April, May and June, the DHFC said in a statement.
The mall, located just off the Al Shamal Road, has been investigating how it can support its retail tenants as COVID-19 encouraged most residents of Qatar to spend more time at home.
Robert Hall, General Manager, Doha Festival City commented: ‘In these unprecedented times, we understand the difficulties faced by the businesses and the impact this current situation is having on our economy. We have been following all precautionary measures put in place by the State of Qatar and World Health Organization to keep our tenants, staff and customers safe and we hope this contribution will help pave way for business continuity in this difficult environment.”
He added: “At Doha Festival City, we truly consider our tenants to be our partners, and this has never been more relevant than now as we face this challenging time together. We believe it is our responsibility to support them as much as we can as we face a future of uncertainty. All tenants will be contacted in the coming days by dedicated mall teams to discuss and outline process for relief.”
