The Council of Ministers on Wednesday decided to reduce the number of employees working in the offices of government agencies to 20 percent of the total strength for an initial two-week period starting from March 22 (Sunday).
The rest of the staff will work remotely from their homes or upon request. Military, security and health sectors have been exempted from this decision.
The decision has been taken in response to the exceptional circumstances prevailing in the country due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The decision is unlikely to disrupt the delivery of government services.
