Three food outlets in Al Wakra were shut down on Tuesday for seven days after municipal and health control authorities found several health code violations there during an inspection campaign.
The authorities have stepped up inspections of commercial establishment to ensure their compliance with health standards as part of a broader campaign to fight the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Recently, teams from the Ministry of Administrative Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) sanitised 232 accommodation facilities of workers.
Apart from the sanitisation campaign, the MADLSA teams are inspecting housing facilities to ensure appropriate measures are in place to prevent the transmission of the disease.
The inspections are being carried out by MADLSA, in association with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The ministry said in a statement that its teams had given out brochures in multiple languages, masks, and sanitizers to help the workers protect themselves against coronavirus. The effort was done in cooperation with Qatar Charity.
The ministry encouraged all companies to ensure a healthy and safe environment for its workers by taking precautionary measures against the spread of the disease.
