The Criminal Investigation Department seized 800 gloves, 7,900 masks and 1,502 pieces of medical clothing as well as antibiotics, thermometers and cash up to QR200,000. Most of the items he is accused of selling are in huge demand in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has infected 439 individuals in Qatar so far.
The man confessed to buying these medical supplies from various pharmacies and reselling them, taking advantage of the high demand for these items, the Minitry of Interior said in a statement.
A tip-off led to his arrest.
After completing the necessary procedures, the accused was referred to the relevant authorities for further legal action.
