The Barwa Real Estate group in Qatar has postponed rent payments for three months for its commercial units such as stores, workshops and offices from April.
The relaxation comes in the light of potential negative impact of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on commercial activities in the country.
With this decision, Barwa becomes the latest in a string of companies that have announced some kind of relaxation for to offset the potential economic damages of the virus.
Earlier, a number of Doha-based banks and telecom entities have advised their customers to use debit, credit cards and digital channels instead of paying by cash for financial transactions and settling bills to combat the spread of the coronavirus in Qatar.
