The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, is suspending auction at the Umm Salal Fish Market from Sunday until futher notice. The decision comes as part of efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.
MoCI has also called on the public to avoid visiting customer service centres and government service complexes and urged them to instead take advantage of the electronic services.
The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour, and Social Affairs on Saturday formed a team to check workers' accommodations and encourage them to take the appropriate precautionary measures against COVID-19.
The ministry said in a statement that the team gave out brochures in multiple languages, masks, and sanitizers to help the workers prevent themselves against coronavirus. The effort was done in cooperation with the Qatar Charity.
The ministry encouraged all companies to ensure a healthy and safe environment for its workers by taking all the precautionary measures against the spread of the disease.
