Qatar has one of the best technologies in the world to diagnose the coronavirus disease, a senior health official said in Doha on Wednesday.
This technology enabled the country to test more than 6,000 individuals, which is second only to South Korea in the world, Public Health Department Director Sheikh Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Thani said at a press conference. 
“We are the second country in the world with this technology to test as much as we can like Korea." 
He said as of Wednesday, 262 people have been tested positive for the virus, but none of them are in critical conditions. There has been no death, he added.
Other officials who addressed at the press conference were co-chair of the National Epidemic Preparation Committee and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Head of Infectious  Diseases Division Dr Abdullatif al Khal; and Director of Health Protection and Communicable Disease Control at the Public Health Department and co-chair of the National Epidemic Preparation Committee Dr Hamad al Rumaihi.
