There are no reported cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) so far in Qatar, the Government Communications Office (GCO) said in a statement on Wednesday. The risk to the public and individuals in Qatar is currently low, it added.
The government of Qatar is taking all measures to protect the public and plan for eventualities. The Ministry of Public Health is working closely with all local entities, the World Health Organisation and other international bodies to monitor the situation and provide up-to-date guidance.
Given the rapidly changing situation, it is important that the public refer regularly to official government communications on the matter. All official guidance and communications will be issued by the Ministry of Public Health and made available on their website.
The Government Communications Office encourages individuals to refer to official information and to not rely on or distribute unconfirmed or unofficial information.
The Ministry of Public Health provides regular updates on its website in multiple languages and via its social media channels. There is a 24/7 coronavirus hotline for information and updates: 66740948 or 66740951.
People travelling abroad should visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for the latest travel advice.
