The Al Wasmi Gardens Festival, which over the last five days enthralled visitors with spectacular international garden designs from five countries, came to an end with a brilliant fireworks display at Katara Hills near Doha on Saturday.
Designs from Qatar, France, Britain, India, and Japan were on display at the festival, which aimed to raise cultural awareness among people about the world of plants, flowers and modern technologies related to their cultivation
The event celebrated the art of designing and organising gardens, which is one of the most beautiful and fine arts that requires complete knowledge of plant and flower types, their shapes, the nature of their growth and methods of gardening.
The multiple designs of gardens displayed on the southern Katara hills demonstrated  the rich and fascinating cultures of different nations.  In the Qatari garden, visitors to the festival can discover the traditional procedures used in agriculture and irrigation, such as the “splitting into parts” system, water channels that link the fountains to the agricultural lands.
