The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) cautions citizens and residents of Qatar against eating the invasive locusts, swarms of which have been spotted in certain parts of Qatar. 
The ministry said it is using pesticides to prevent in Qatar a locust invasion.
The ministry livestock owners and ranchers in Duhailiyat and areas surrounding the Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College to be particularly careful and not let their animals graze on wild growths and bushes.
The MME has also called on the public, especially farmland owners, to immediately report to authorities when they spot the desert locust swarms. If you see them, immediately inform the Agricultural Pest Control Unit of the location to help eliminate a potential outbreak in a timely manner.
