Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday condemned Saudi Arabia's delay in granting entry to Qatar's Minister of Public Health for a GCC meeting to deal with the global coronavirus outbreak.
HE Dr Hanan al Kuwari was eventually granted the permit but only after the meeting had begun. The meeting was called by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
MoFA said Saudi Arabia always claimed that the GCC, especially its technical committees, was not affected by the Gulf crisis precipitated by the unjust Saudi-led blockade of Qatar.
The ministry said Qatar was "surprised" that Saudi Arabia "politicised" a humanitarian mission that shouldn't be affected by political differences.
