The Amiri Guard concluded Wednesday morning at the "Lahsnieh" camp the activities of the two-week "Al Kawaser 2" exercise, in cooperation with the Sultan's Special Force of the Sultanate of Oman, in the framework of the cooperation between the two sides in the fields of military training and counter-terrorism efforts, in the presence of Amiri Guard Commander Major General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani.
The Deputy Commander of the Amiri Guard, the Inspector General, a number of the assistants of Commander of the Amiri Guard, and Major Commander of the Joint Special Forces Major General Hamad Abdullah Al Fetais Al Marri attended the closing ceremony of the exercise.
From the Sultan's Special Forces, Assistant Commander for Operations and Training Colonel Hamad Al Kamshouei, Director of Operations Colonel Muhammad Ali Al Amri, several senior officers, and the Omani Military Attache Colonel Ali Al Kalbani attended the closing ceremony of the drill.
The "Al Kawaser 2" exercise aims to brief the officers on the various experiences in the field of modern military tactics related to counter-terrorism methods, in addition to exchanging training and information experiences in the field of field military operations, raising the level of competence and preparedness, developing training methods, and acquiring new combat skills.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the exercise, Major Muhammad Salman Al Mohannadi, the exercise manager, said that "Al Kawaser 2", whose first edition was held in the Sultanate of Oman, comes in the framework of the exchanging training experiences between the two parties, in light of the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries. He pointed out that the joint training contributes to developing the level of the trainees and enhances their capabilities, and helps them reach the highest levels of combat readiness in facing various dangers.
Al Mohannadi pointed out that coordination with the Omani side was carried out at the highest level, adding that the exercise is an extension of the joint exercises implemented by the Amiri Guard at the level of sisterly and friendly countries, aiming at developing methods used in the training process through learning about different experiences, exchanging military experiences, raising the level of readiness, and briefing the participants many combat skills. He explained that the "Al Kawaser 2" exercise included several scenarios and hypotheses that mimic potential and sudden threats and take great account of reality.
In his speech on behalf of the Sultan's Special Force, First Lieutenant Mahmoud Hamid Al Shamsi confirmed that "Al Kawaser 2" exercise gained great importance for being the reflection of teamwork, competence, fighting spirit, and high readiness of the members of the Amiri Guard, as well as the advanced level of the training process, including good training and high-level facilities.
He pointed to the necessity of continuing such joint exercises because of their great impact in exchanging training and operational experiences, and enhancing joint military cooperation between the two brotherly countries under the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
The exercise included a set of theoretical and field exercises related to counter-terrorism methods, and the sudden hazards related thereto, such as training to storm buildings, aircraft, vehicles and trains using rapid intervention vehicles, shooting skills and tactics used to free the hostages, in addition to emergency response training.
During the closing presentation, the trainees demonstrated a high level of competence and readiness, both at the field or operational training level, and the presentation paragraphs reflected the new individual and group capabilities and skills they acquired during the training session, in line with the vision and direction of the Amiri Guard leadership.
In conclusion, the Deputy Commander of the Amiri Guards honored the participants for the effort made during the training session, and for their outstanding and distinguished level, which reflects the expected benefit of these exercises.
