Doha Festival City, Qatar's one and only destination for shopping and entertainment,announced a host of festivities around the mall to take place from 12 to 18 December, in celebration of Qatar National Day. 
Celebrations will be everywhere around Festival City and national flags will decorate the mall, for an enthusiastic welcoming ambience. 
Traditional activities such as the Mini Souq will take place every day4pm – 10pm at the Axis node, ground floor, featuring the much-loved Henna Majlis, where shoppers can get authentic henna drawings. At the same area, a Carpet Workshop Majlis will host a carpet maker who will demonstrate to the visitors the art of weaving carpets the traditional way. 
The Mini Souq theme will extend to the Centre Court, First Floor,withFishnet and Pearl Accessories making stations. Available daily from 4pm to 10pm, this majlis features two artists exhibiting how fishnets and pearl accessories are made to the audience. Customers can also take a perfect Instagram-able photo in national or traditional Qatari attire at the photo booth nearby.
At the Market Node, ground floor, an artificial Sidra Tree, an icon of Qatar’s plains and geography, will be installed.Visitors are invited to leave notes and memos and hang it to the tree in commemoration of Qatar on its National Day. Visitors are also invited to take a photo of themselves against the tree and tag #SidratreeatDHFC for a chance to win prizes.
As the celebrations continue, local artists will be spotted in the bridge in First FloorCenter Court and at the Atrium Node as they go about painting live two walls. Canvases on easels showcasing artworks by different artists will also be displayed beside them. And on the 18th of December, all customer service desks will offer shoppers traditional coffee and dates, while a live performance by an Arabesque Jazz Band will be playing the national anthem and an assortment of other songs in a Majlis, where more coffee and dates will be served.

With 420 stores open at Doha Festival City and more than 100 places offering food and beverages, shoppers are spoilt for choice. There are 46 brands exclusive to Doha Festival City in Qatar.
Doha Festival City has become the destination of choice for both international visitors and locals alike with its location only a 40-minute drive from Hamad International Airport, 20 minutes from West Bay and 10 minutes from Al Ghaaraffa.
