Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani chaired the Cabinet regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al Nuaimi stated the following:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet hailed the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and Rwandan President Paul Kagame honouring the winners of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award. The award ceremony was held on Monday in Rwandan capital Kigali, in the presence of HE President of the Republic of Namibia Hage Geingob, HE Chairperson of the African Union Commission, HE President of the International Football Association (FIFA), HE Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and a number of international figures.
The Cabinet affirmed that this event, which coincided with the convening of the 7th Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption Conference, hosted by the Shura Council, and attended by parliamentarians from 106 countries, reflects the State of Qatar's keenness in fighting corruption and the extreme danger it poses to the future of nations and the welfare of peoples. It also reflects the global appreciation of Qatar's efforts in this field, and its role in promoting transparency and principles of good governance for a world prevailed by justice and the rule of law, the Cabinet stressed.
The Cabinet also reviewed the results of the 40th session of the GCC Supreme Council, which was held yesterday in Riyadh, the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

The Cabinet then reviewed topics on its meeting's agenda as following:

- Taking the necessary measures to issue a draft law approving the state budget for the fiscal year 2020, after the Cabinet reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council on the draft law.

  - Approving an Draft Amiri Decision to reorganize the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA).

  - Approving the following drafts law and referring them to the Shura Council:

1- A draft law amending some provisions of the Penal Code promulgated by Law No. 11 of 2004.

  2- A draft law amending some provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law issued by Law No. 23 of 2004.

- Approving a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 18 of 2017 on Public Hygiene.

- Approving the Cabinet's draft decision amending the organization of some administrative units that comprise the Ministry of Justice and determining their jurisdictions

- Approving the inclusion of a representative of the Supreme Judiciary Council into the membership of the Committee to look into applications of foreign marriages.

- Taking the necessary measures to certify:

1- An agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Hungary on canceling visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and private passports.

  2- An agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil regarding joint exemption from entry visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports.

  3- A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of health between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil.

- Approving a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the State of Qatar and the Diplomatic Academy Jose de la Marcoleta at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua.

  The Cabinet then reviewing the results of the 29th Ministerial Meeting of the GCC's Agricultural Cooperation Committee (Sultanate of Oman - September 2019) and took the appropriate decision thereon. (QNA)
