The Kenyan community group, popularly known as the Green Maasai Troupe (GMT) performed at the opening ceremony of Qatar’s First Hot Air Balloon Festival which started on December 7 and will continue until December 18 at Aspire Park.
The group is also scheduled to perform and enthrall audience with typical traditional Kenyan songs and dances on December 12, 14 and 18. 
Hot Balloon Air Festival has been organised by Safe Flight Solutions in partnership with Qatar National Tourism Council, Qatar Airways, Aspire Zone Foundation, Hertz and Aura hospitality.
GMT Entertainment Manager Francis Kuria said that they were grateful to be invited by the organisers to take part in the first hot air balloon festival that is expected to entertain people of all ages in Qatar. “At the opening ceremony, we performed traditional Kenyan music and we hope to provide more during our upcoming performances. I believe that besides showcasing our country, the performances are able to unite people from different backgrounds while entertaining them.”
The family-friendly festival provides a free entry to the park and will showcase 33 different hot air balloons from 13 countries.
Other activities includes a display of sumptuous delicacies from various food brands, live music, kids’ entertainment, balloon night glow, besides many others.
