Kate Middleton and Prince William play with army dogs on their last day in Pakistan
On their final day in Pakistan, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had to re-arrange their itinerary because of a flight travel disruption the night before.
Kate Middleton and Prince William arrived back in Islamabad on Friday after previously attempting to fly out on Thursday night. However, their flight was forced to return to Lahore due to electrical storms.
The aborted flight route, which normally takes 25 minutes, ended up lasting around two hours as the plane tried to land at two airports near Islamabad.
However, they were eventually able to safety head back to the capital.
In the morning, the duo checked into the five-star Pearl Continental hotel to start their re-arranged day. They spent time with dogs from the Army Canine Centre who are specially trained to detect explosive devices. The programme is modelled on the UK’s Defence Animal Training Centre at Melton Mowbray.
William and Kate joined the dog handles for a training session before taking some of the younger puppies through an agility training activity.
Also on their list was a flyover the Khyber Pass area in the west of the country where Pakistan meets Afghanistan and a visit to the border post. However, it remains to be seen if that will still be on their itinerary.
The Duke and Duchess will then return to the Nur Khan Air Force Base in Rawalpindi for their official departure and return to the UK after spending five days in the country.
