Tribune News Network - Doha :

STENDEN University Qatar celebrated its 16th graduation of Class 2018 at a memorable ceremony held at the Rotana City Centre Hotel in Doha.

A total of 57 students graduated with Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in International Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, and International Business and Management Studies.

Among them were students from 41 different nationalities.  The ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al Thani and was attended by Erica Schaper, president of NHL Stenden University in the Netherlands, special guests, parents and heads of different organisations in Qatar.

“Every year, Stenden University Qatar contributes to the Qatari society by graduating a new group of brilliant young men and women who possess enough enthusiasm and ambition to become the country’s future leaders and serve Qatar with the highest levels of commitment,” said Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al Thani, while addressing the audience.

He congratulated the families of the graduates. Klaas Wybo van der Hoek, vice-president of the executive board of NHL Stenden University in the Netherlands, said, “We are very proud of you and we hope you will be a life-long ambassador of Stenden University Qatar.

As our graduate, our success will add value to your degree but also the other way around. You are now ready to join over 800 alumni of Stenden University Qatar, to make a difference here in Qatar, or anywhere else in the world.”

Dr Ivan Ninov, executive dean of Stenden University Qatar, commente, “The broad-based nature of your degree has prepared you and given you the freedom to work and become successful in a number of industries.

Your success as graduates would become the most important indicator of the quality of our academic programmes. You as graduates are culturally intelligent, you can solve problems, you can think independently, and you can lead.”  The top performing student, Nouran Khamis, shared her experiences at Stenden University of Applied Sciences, saying, “We could not have made it this far without our families; that is why we want to thank you from all our hearts for all the support and guidance you have provided us.

And to all our friends who listened to us, complain and watched us worry, thank you for being there, and thank you for listening and thank you for being you.”
